Description
鞑塑村在葛利高里回来的那一天，已经把哥萨克编成了两个连。在村民大会上决定，动员所有能拿枪的人，从十六岁到七十岁的人都拿起枪来。很多人觉得当前的形势是没有希望的:北面是一向和顿河地区有宿怨的、已经在苏维埃统治下的沃罗涅什省和红色的霍皮奥尔斯克区。南面是红军的防线，如果这条防线一旦转为进攻，就能以排山倒海之势，把叛乱者淹没。有些特别谨慎的哥萨克不愿意拿起武器，但是人们强迫他们拿。司捷潘阿司塔霍夫断然拒绝再去打仗。
