여성에 대해 무례하거나 공격적인 행동을 하는 남성이나 남자아이에 대해 “남자다운 행동이다” 또는 “그 남자가 널 좋아해서 그래. 괜찮아”라고 하는 말을 얼마나 자주 들어왔을까? 전문가들은 비록 이런 말들이 표면적으로는 해가 되지 않는 것 같지만 사실은 우리가 알지 못하는 사이에 공격성을 정상적인 것처럼 정당화시키는 것이라고 지적한다. 즉 공격성을 남성에게 내재된 것이나 여성이 유발한 당연한 것으로 받아들이게 한다는 것.하지만 폭력의 굴레는 반드시 끊어야 한다.
