제 본업은 컨설팅과 강의입니다. 주로 리더십을 주제로 강의를 하고 있죠. 강의를 하다보면 많은 사람을 만나게 되는데 기억에 남는 참가자가 한 분 있습니다. 주 1회씩 꽤 긴 기간 진행했던 클래스였는데, 첫 시간부터 끝나는 날까지 저를 바라보는 그 분의 눈은 ‘어디 한 번 보자.’하는 평가를 하기 위한 시선으로 가득했습니다. 제가 조금이라도 실수하면 지적을 하겠다는 강렬한 의지가 느껴질 정도였죠. 여러분은 그런 시선을 누군가에게 받으면 어떨 것 같으신가요? 저는 굉장히 기분이 좋지 않았습니다. 사실 누구라도 그럴 겁니다. 누가 나를 평가하는 사람과 함께 하고 싶겠어요. 열린 마음으로 나를 수용해주는 사람과 함께하고 싶어하죠. 해당 클래스의 강사였기 때문에 그와 적당한 관계를 유지하기 위한 노력을 했지만, 아마 밖에서 개인적인 관계로 그런 사람을 만났다면 그 사람과의 관계는 첫 만남으로 끝났을 겁니다. 문의 : [email protected]
