It's not clear whether Ukrainian diplomats will attend Russia's proposed new rounds of peace talks next week in Istanbul. Russia's Ministry of Defense says it gained control of a Ukrainian village in the Donetsk region.

In a statement, Ukraine's security service said about a third of strategic cruise missile carriers in Russia's main airfields were destroyed at a total cost of about $7 billion. Ukrainian drones hit deep into Russia today, hitting several airfields and destroying more than 40 military planes. And Russia struck a Ukrainian military training unit, leaving at least 12 soldiers dead. This ahead of scheduled peace talks in Istanbul tomorrow. Meanwhile, at least seven people are dead, 71 injured after a bridge collapsed in Russia, derailing a passenger train passing below.
