Lawana Mayfield, Councilmember at Law. Good evening. I'm Victoria Watlington and I have the pleasure of serving you at large. Here Ree Hager Gray, senior assistant city attorney. Excellent, thank you. So uh we began our meetings with an invocation That is an expression, an inspiration, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The invocation by a council member is intended to underscore our proceedings and we celebrate the religious diversity of our community, including those without a religious faith. And this evening council member Ashmira will provide the invocation.

Thank you. Please join. Bowing our heads. Good evening. I'm honored to offer this evening's invocation as we gather after the Easter holiday. As many are as many in our communities have celebrated renewal and hope this past weekend. Let us carry that spirit into our work tonight. Tonight we also stand on the eve of Earth Day, so let us be reminded of our profound connection to the environment and our duty as stewards of the city's natural resources. Tomorrow communities around the world will recommit to protecting our planet. Maybe honor that spirit tonight by celebrating how our decisions impact not just our present needs, but the sustainable future we wish to create for generations to come. Amen. Thank you.

So we we begin our zoning meetings with an ex explanation of our zoning process and the process begins with applications submitted to the planning staff for review. Cases of two types are on the agenda, this decisions and hearings. Decisions on cases for which public hearing equipment was previously held and there is no further public comment on on decisions this evening. And then for the hearings, anyone wishing to speak on a particular hearing is asked to see the city clerk before the start of that particular hearing. The staff will uh provide their presentations and there's no time limit for the staff presentation. And then the pert the petitioner, you know, those that are in favor of the petition will receive six uh I'm sorry, three minutes combined to present their case unless one of two things occur.

If there are opponents to speak against that particular petition or if staff is in opposition, the petitioner will receive ten minutes, the opponent will receive ten minutes, and the petitioner will receive a two minute reb a two minute rebuttal. If no one is opposed or sign up to speak, staff provides a short presentation. The public hearing is closed and the next public hearing will occur. The petition goes to the zoning committee of planning commission for review and recommendation, and at this time I'm going to hand it over. to Chair Blumenthal to uh to go ahead and introduce his committee.

Thank you very much, Mayor Pro Tem, and thank you, Council. Uh my name is Andrew Blumenthal, and I'm serving as the chairman of the zoning committee of the Planning Commission. Uh please allow me to introduce my fellow committee members here this evening. We have Teresa McDonald, Aaron Shaw, and Shauna Neely. Uh we have three other members as well that are following on online this evening as well. Uh the zoning committee will next meet on Tuesday, May 6th at 5 30 p.m. At that meeting we will discuss and make recommendations on the petitions that have public hearings this evening. The public is welcome to attend that meeting. However, please note that it is not a continuation of any of the public hearings that are being held here tonight.
