Good morning everyone and welcome to our Board of Supervisors meeting of March eighteenth, twenty twenty five. And we're going to begin the meeting as we always do, uh, which is a moment of silence to be followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. And before we rise, uh for those who are able to rise for our moment of silence and pledge of allegiance, I would ask if any board members uh would like to have anyone recognized this morning, uh, to keep in our thoughts and prayers, and I will just mention Um it's probably obvious to folks that Supervisor Haredy is not uh with us this morning. He is recovering from a medical procedure and will not be joining us today, so we want to keep uh Supervisor Heredity in our thoughts and prayers uh today and I'd recognize any other board members who would like to offer any thoughts.

And we're gonna begin uh this morning with three presentations and as we always do I will announce uh the presentation and invite our speaker down to the podium in front of me. Uh we'll then read the proclamation or resolution and after the speaker's remarks we'll pose for a picture from the dais. And uh this morning we first have a proclamation to designate March as alternative dispute resolution month in Fairfax County. And this was requested by myself and Supervisor Stork. And I believe Supervisor Stork has the motion. Uh well thank you Mr. Chairman. It's it's my pleasure to um to read a proclamation whereas alternative dispute resolution ADR encompasses a range of uh processes. Uh

Um whereas alternative dispute resolution encompasses a range of processes, tools and techniques aimed at managing and resolving conflicts in a way that encourages collaboration and mutual understanding. And whereas ADR provides an effective alternative to traditional adversarial proceedings, helping disputing parties reach mutually agreeable resolutions that consider everyone's needs, lower costs, and enhance communication and morale. And whereas ADR is widely used in Fairfax County, including the ADR program, which plays a vital role in supporting employees through high stress situations, enhancing communication and improving workplace relationships, and whereas Fairfax County annually selects a leader in the field of ADR to receive special recognition for their outstanding contributions to conflict resolution and community well being.
