Aye. Opposed? Now it passes. We have no certificates of recognition, but we do have three proclamations. Um I will read them out and then take them to uh down on the floor. The first one is um child national child abuse prevention month It says whereas April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, calling attention to our moral obligation to protect every child from harm. And whereas at least one in seven children have experienced child abuse in the last year in the United States, and one in four girls and one in thirteen boys will face sexual abuse before they turn eighteen. Whereas the trauma of child abuse and neglect has lasting psychological, emotional, and physical impacts into adulthood. And whereas effective child abuse prevention is is a community effort, it succeeds because of the combined commitment among healthcare providers, educators, families, child welfare advocates and other community cultural and faith based organizations.

And whereas Loudoun County Advocacy Centre, a programme of laws, domestic violence and sexual assault services, calls upon all community members to promote the social and emotional well being of children and families, protect children from harm, foster safe, stable and nurturing environments. Therefore proclaim that the mayor and the council of the town of Leesburg in Virginia recognizes April twenty twenty four as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The next one is uh proclamation for uh national sexual assault awareness and prevention month april twenty twenty four. Whereas April is National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month Calling out that freedom from all forms of violence, including sexual violence, is a basic human right.

And whereas one in four adult women and one in twenty six adult men have survived rape or attempted rape. And whereas crimes of sexual violence c occur far too frequently, go unreported or underreported far too often, and leave long lasting impacts. And whereas during National Sexual Assault and Prevention Month, we recommit ourselves to removing the stigma surrounding sexual violence, expanding support for survivors of sexual violence, and strengthening our response.
