Let the record reflect that all members of council are here with the exception of Council Member Nacy, who is uh not feeling very well today, and so we asked her to stay home. The first one is for um the uh proclamation for Leesburg Day Break Rotary Club. This um Leesburg Daybreak Rotary Club Day, whereas the Leesburg Day Daybreak Rotary Club has been an esteem pillar of our community for thirty four years, embodying the motto service above self in all its endeavors. Whereas the Leesburg Daybreak Rotary Club has an entireless dedicated tirelessly dedicated self to noble causes of promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water. saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies and protecting the environment.
And whereas the Leesburg Daybreak Rotary Club has been an unwavering force for good, touching the lives of countless individuals through its exemplary service and commitment to making Leesburg a better place for all. Whereas the Leesburg Daybreak Rotary Club has exemplified the spirit of the community through its countless hours of volunteerism, generous contributions, and dedication to the well being of our citizens. Therefore proclaim that the mayor and the council hereby recognize the thirty-fifth anniversary uh no, it's the thirty-fourth anniversary of the Loudoun Daybreak Rotary Club. uh in honor of their unwavering commitment to service and dedication to the values of international uh Rotary International.
May we all be inspired by the Leesburg Day Break Rotary Club's example of service above self and strive to make Leesburg an even better place for generations to come. Do I have a motion? Why don't we let um Dr. Simone Johnson make the motions?

So on this one is it proclaiming April twenty seventh, two thousand twenty four. Whereas in 1872, J. Sterling Morton proposed to the to the Nebraska Board of Arch Architecture, Agriculture, that a special day should be set aside for planting of trees. And whereas that special day, called Arbor Day, was first observed with the planting of more than a million trees in Nebraska. And whereas trees provide many benefits for our community, such as reducing the erosion of topsoil, moderating temperature, reducing heat and cooling costs, cleaning the air and the water, and they also produce oxygen and provide a habitat for wildlife.
