Thank you Mayor Burke for your very generous invitation to offer this invocation tonight. I am privileged to do so. Let us place ourselves in the presence of our God. God, the giver of all good things, we are truly thankful for the many, many blessings put before us this day. We are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy. for the relationships we share here in this town of Leesburg, which we call home, and for the many opportunities you give us to nurture and strengthen the bonds of community that hold us together. May we never take these blessings for granted. God of justice, we ask the members of our town council to honor their oath of office and to

God of love, we gratefully acknowledge the constant patience, steadfast devotion, and unwavering support of the families of the members of our town council, especially during these challenging and unprecedented times. May their families be an ongoing source of affirmation, encouragement, and inspiration. This proclamation is whereas Jennifer Wexton has dedicated her life to public service, exemplifying integrity and leadership and unwavering commitment to her constituents. And whereas Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton has served as a passionate and tireless advocate for the people of Virginia's 10th congressional district since 2019. And whereas congressional woman Jennifer Wexton is a native of the Washington area, graduated with honors from the University of Maryland in College Park, and earned her law degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. And today she resides in Leesburg with her husband and two sons.
