And I will ask for a motion. Whereas the town of Leesburg is committed to environmental stewardship and maintaining the town's aesthetic appearance of road corridors and public places, and whereas many volunteers come forth each April to collect trash from roadsides, stream areas, and common areas throughout the town, Whereas it is very important to educate the public that whatever goes into a stream storm drain ends up in the Chesapeake Bay, thus extending the positive impact of cleanup activities far beyond the town.
Whereas the town council appreciates the fine work of the town staff and the Leesburg Environmental Advisory Commission to keep the town's roadways, right of ways and parks clean and attractive year round. And whereas the town will host a kickoff event on April 5th, 2025 to encourage the community to come together and to make our community cleaner and greener. Therefore proclaim that the mayor and the Leesburg town council hereby proclaim April 2025 as keep Leesburg beautiful month and encourages all residents, business, businesses, youth groups, churches, service organizations to participate in keep Leesburg beautiful by organizing a cleanup and beautification activities proclaimed this 25th day of March.
