All right, let the record, sorry, I gotta move this chair up. Let the record reflect that all members of council are present with the exception of Council Member Wilt. We have nobody that needs to participate remotely. I have two sets of minutes, the work session minutes of April 21st. Do I have a motion? So moved. Council Member Steinberg, second. Second. Council Member Cummings, all in favor, indicate by saying aye. Aye. Nay and abstain. So that's 5-1-0-1. Okay, 5-0-1-1. Okay, got to keep those votes straight. All right, the regular session meetings of April 22nd. Do I have a motion? So moved. Council Member Nacy, second? Second. Council Member Cummings, all in favor indicate by saying aye. Aye. Opposed? We have a couple of proclamations. And... I am going to share them with people on the dais tonight. So I'll hold the first one, but I am gonna ask Ms. Nacy to read the second one. Mr. Krakowski, would you read the third one? Proclamation four, five and six, go down that way. So everybody's got a turn to read them. But after we're done, I'll take it down and give them out. So for the record, the proclamation for National Public Works Week, whereas the public works professionals in our community focus on infrastructure, facilities, and services that are integral to our everyday lives, providing sustainable and resilient communities is essential in protecting and enhancing our human environment.
whereas these infrastructure facilities and services could not be provided without the dedicated effort of the public work professionals, who are engineers, managers, and employees at all levels of government and the private sector, who are responsible for rebuilding, improving, and protecting our nation's transportation, public buildings, and other structures and facilities essential to our citizens, whereas the support of an informed and understanding citizenry is vital to the effective operation of the public work system and programs, Whereas 2025, the National Public Works Week theme, People, Purpose, and Presence, which highlights three cornerstone ideals that motivate public works professionals to serve in their communities every day.
Whereas the town of Leesburg Public Works Department performs essential services such as equipment maintenance, construction drawing review, transportation infrastructure upkeep and maintenance, stormwater management, public buildings, brush and leaf collection, refuge and recycling collection, street maintenance and snow removal. Whereas this marks the 65th annual National Public Works Week sponsored by the American Public Works Association, therefore proclaimed that the mayor and the council of the town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby recognize May 18th through May 24th, 2025 as National Public Works Week and pay tribute to the public works professionals for their substantial contributions and dedication to advancing the quality of life
