N nay, that's six zero one. Uh proclamation. We do have a proclamation tonight. And it is Hispanic Heritage Month. And I would like to read it into the record at this point and then um Uh Oscar Torres is going to uh come down on the floor and join us and um I will hand give this to him at that point. So the proclamation is for His Hispanic Heritage Month. Whereas September fifteenth through October fifteenth is National Hispanic Heritage Month. And we celebrate the many ways Hispanic Americans have helped shape our community. Whereas the National Hispanic Heritage Month two thousand twenty three observation theme is Latinos driving prosperity, power and progress in America. The theme recognizes the important role the Hispanic community plays in moving the country forward, and whereas the National Hispanic Heritage Month was created to showcase and highlight Hispanic contributions throughout our nation, and whereas the town of Leesburg's growing Hispanic population is strong and vibrant and a key part of the fabric of its community.

And whereas the Hispanic population has had a profound and positive influence through its strong commitment to family, faith, hard work and service. Whereas we welcome Oscar Torres, a key figure in organizing the Leesburg Police Department annual Fiesta Latina, as accepting this proclamation on behalf of the Hispanic community. Therefore, the mayor and the town council of Leesburg, Virginia, hereby proclaim September fifteenth, through august fifteenth, two thousand twenty three, has Hispanic Heritage Month and encourages all residents to join in recognizing and preserving the contributions made by the Hispanic Americans, proclaimed this third date of October Oc October tw twenty twenty three. We don't have to have a vote on this?

We are would you mind uh sharing with us what you do uh with the police department in regard to our um our festival that we have every year and and how it came about if you if if you have that information? Because I think you're instrumental in making it happen if I understand correctly.

Thank you. Thank you everybody and I'm very happy to to hear and enjoy this uh this meeting with everybody. Um first of all I want to say thank you to the police department of Lisburg for for uh let me work with them and introduce the Latino. Um we always be happy to work with them and be close to them and these events like uh the the tournament soccer tournament that helps to everybody to to know them and they know to us and I'm very happy to to work with them and uh I hope next year can we can make this one bigger.
