Town Clerk / Staff (Eileen) 4:42
You've already voted on it, so we can just... Oh, okay.
Mayor (Madam Mayor) 4:45
You're good.
Town Clerk / Staff (Eileen) 4:46
What we'll do, Madam Mayor, just for housekeeping, is we'll prepare an amended resolution with the change date, and we'll have that as a consent item at your next legislative meeting.
Mayor (Madam Mayor) 5:00
Okay. We're changing the... Usually, we meet in August. We usually only meet on the second week, the Monday and Tuesday, and we don't meet on the 4th, but because of the change in the school calendar, we're changing that so that we're gonna meet, we're not gonna meet on the 10th and 11th, we're gonna meet on the 20th and 25th. So that's what we just did, in case anybody was confused. All right, we have a presentation tonight. This is the Golden Grabber Award winner. Small group was Mark Newton, I'm sorry, I'm hearing a large, large group was Potomac Station HOA and there was a staff group, the public works dash admin.
Sustainability Manager / Staff (presenting Keep Leesburg Beautiful) 5:53
Ran your sustainability manager back to talk some trash with you all to highlight the 2026 keep Leesburg beautiful event. So, as you know, every April we celebrate Keep Leesburg Beautiful by encouraging our residents to volunteer and help us pick up litter throughout the community. This year, our kickoff event was held on April 11th because of the calendar, which is funny, we were just talking about editing that. But despite that, we actually had events all month long. So the first event or the first group that went out went out on April 4th, and then the final event was actually May 1st. So we were able to spread out our efforts this year quite a bit, and that's reflected in the volunteer numbers and was a goal from last year.
Sustainability Manager / Staff (presenting Keep Leesburg Beautiful) 6:37
We want to take a moment to shout out all of the 2026 business supporters. So every volunteer received one of these cards that had different incentives for every like at every business. So if you scan the QR code, it will show you what discount or incentive is available at each location and for what time period.

Who won the 2026 Golden Grabber and what were the Keep Leesburg Beautiful results?

Sustainability Manager / Staff (presenting Keep Leesburg Beautiful) 6:58
So we just wanted to shout them out one last time. And then we also wanted to shout out our partner in Patriot Disposal. They are the ones who went out and weighed all the trash bags for the Golden Grabber this year, which allowed staff to participate without any animosity about who might be using a scale a little heavier than others.
