What opening prayers and announcements begin the meeting?
Well, good evening, Supervisors. Good evening, staff, good evening, Loudoun. I'd like to call to order the September 17, 2024, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Business Meeting. This room has a hearing loop. Um, if you need hearing assistance, please switch your hearing aid to the telecom mode. If you need a headset, we have those available as well. This evening, Mr. Uh Laterner will be offering words of inspiration, our prayer, and leaving us in the Pledge of allegiance, Mr. Laterno.
Thank you, Chair Randall. Heavenly Father. We ask for your wisdom, we ask for your patience, we ask for your blessings as we go about the work for our county. We ask you to bless our first responders, our fire, our EMS, our sheriff's deputies, all of those that work on a daily basis to keep us safe. We ask that you bless our troops at home and overseas who are also working in a volatile world to keep us safe. Safe and we pray for peace uh around the world. Amen. I pledge allegiance to the flag and the United States of
America. And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible of liberty and justice wrong. I just tossed this in the trash 'cause I think it came from this pen. Oh, it's the pen. Yeah, I can't I've only picked up one pen, so I'm assuming it came from this pen. Yeah, Mr. Pan. Okay. Uh supervisors, um, I'm gonna do additions and deletions and and and then we'll go through some things. Okay, just to let you know, I I'm going to make a motion in just a second to suspend the rules to um add a resolution to recognize Emily Fox for her achievements. Emily Fox um is from um Stonebridge High School graduate and she He was a member of the Olympic uh soccer team. Now, just so everyone knows, we will be doing all three of the Olympians who are from Loudoun together, probably the second meeting in August.
Emily Fox's uh coach from the National Soccer League asked that we did this for her today because every member of the U.S. soccer team is going To have a resolution given to them at a large event in Chicago. So this is for approval, not for presentation, and to be sent to the to the US soccer team. Now that I'm saying this, I hope I'm not ruining any secret. But so the one for Emily Fox tonight is not the we will still be doing her and the other two Loudoun Olympians later on. So that's just so that when I suspend the rules that that's what that's for. Also, um, legislative item 2023-0070, the hidden wood assemblage, ZMAP 2023-0004. The applicant has requested to pull that item and to defer it indefinitely.
When an applicant makes this request of me, um I have never said no to uh the uh uh applicants um request before. I do not find a reason to say no now. So the hidden wood assemblage is deferred indefinitely. It will not be on the agenda tonight at all. I have no idea when it will come back or even if it will come back on the agenda. Because it was pulled by the applicant. It was by the applicant. Um having said that, I'm gonna make a motion to suspend the rules.
Second.
Motion is main seconded by Supervisor Bricksman. Discussion on the motion. All in favor, please say aye. Aye. Aye. Any opposed? That motion will pass. Seven zero two. I move to the board of supervisors at item R four, resolution to recognize Emily Fox and her achievements to the September seventeenth, two thousand twenty four business meeting agenda. Mr. Turner, this person's in your district. You want to second that? Second. Okay, motion's made second, Mr. Turner. September
sixteenth
or October.
September seventeenth.
Oh s I'm sorry, today I
All in favor, please say aye.
How is the resolution to recognize Emily Fox introduced and voted on?
Aye. Any opposed? That motion will pass seven zero two as well. Mr. Uh Kirshner has called me. He will be here around six o'clock. Um he is um has a heavy work schedule this week. Mr. Saints usually arrives from his heavy work schedule at around five, and so we expect both of them to be here this evening. So provisors, there's a very long consent agenda, a very long page and a half of consent agenda. So please be patient with me as I read through the entire consent agenda.
