What are the opening remarks and agenda items at the start of the meeting?
Jenny? What, Saturday? Sunday? Were you crying? I wasn't crying.
Oops. Well, good evening, supervisors, good evening, staff, and good evening, Loudoun. I'd like to call to order the December third, two thousand twenty four Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Business Meeting. This room has a hearing loop. If you need hearing assistance, please switch your switch your hearing aid to the telecall mode. If you need a headset, we have those available as well. Please see the clerk to my left to request one. Um this evening I am the person who Giving um words of wisdom or prayer, and I thought a lot about what I wanted to say tonight, and it turned out a song set it best for me. One of my favorite songs is a song called My Grown Up Christmas List. I don't know if you guys have ever heard it before.
But as we head into the holidays with all that is going on both in this country and across the across the world, I thought I would give you just the first. Verse of my grown-up Christmas list. This is a an an adult person who is speaking to kind of um almost like an invisible Santa Claus. Do you remember me? I sat up on your knee. I wrote to you with childhood fantasies. Well, I'm all grown up now, but can you still help somehow? I'm not a child, but my heart still can dream. So here's my lifelong wish, my grown-up Christmas list, not for myself, but for a world in need. No more lives torn apart and wars would never start, and time would heal all hearts, and every man would have a friend that right would always win and love would never end.
This is my grown up Christmas list. Would you all please join me for the Pledge of Allegiance? Well, I think. The United States of America. To the Republic for which is stand. Yeah. Yeah. Justice. Okay, Caleb will be back in just a sec. Mr. Sainz is probably racing in from um DC, and Miss Glass had a previous engagement and will not be able to join us tonight. I have two deletions from the agenda tonight. I have no additions. The deletions are item 2G, a request to allow use of county property and resources has been with Withdrawn by delegate David Reed. The boardroom is no longer needed for the General Assembly pre-legislative session. I do believe that delegate Reed, being the senior most senior person in our legislative delegation, will come back to us another time with a later date to use the boardroom.
And item 10, board member initiative to fast-track commercial incentives program for data centers. That has been Deferred to January twenty second, twenty twenty twenty-five. Um when when there is a BMI, uh staff does not help with our BMIs because that's not it's a BMI, it's a board member initiative. However, at times people may have questions for a staff member or get clarification from it from a staff member. Since Mr. Riser um is not able to be here, I thought it was really important that for that um initiative. Mr. Riser could be in the room. I s I called him last night at the request of my colleague, Mr. Croney, and at Mrs. Croney, I'm sorry, Supervisor Crony. And ask did he would there be any um BMI, I mean disciplines would look to be fast tracked before January twenty-second.
He said no. Supervisor Tacroni was very gracious, and so we're going to just move that item to supervisor to uh January twenty-second. And now I will read the proposed consent agenda. It is as follows item R1, presentation of ceremony. Check from good works and green street housing. That's from a that's for approval and presentation. And I know I've already seen Mr. Hart in the room. Item 1A, appointments and confirmations. Item two, administrative items report for December 3, 2024, with the exception of 2G, because I just removed that from the agenda. Item 4, 2024, fiscal impact. Impact committee guidelines, item five, speed study at t at the in the town of Round Hill. Item six um Smith Switch Road Corridor and Washington O and D Dominion Grade Separator Crossing Study.
Item 7, response to Board Member Initiative, Whitfield Place Crosswalk Safety and Improvements. Item 8 is a ZMAP to night 2019.
