Well good evening supervisors, good evening staff, and good evening Loudoun. I'd like to call to order the June 3rd, 2025 Loudoun County Business Meeting. This room has a hearing loop. If you need hearing assistance, please switch your hearing aid to the telecoil mode If you need a headset, we have those available as well. It is my turn this time to do words of inspiration or an invocation. What I wanna just take a time, a moment to do is talk to the senior class of 2025, whether you're in parochial school, private school, or public school. I wanna say, first of all, congratulations. Finishing high school is a big deal. And please, no matter what you're going to do next in your life, please celebrate this, whether you're going to go to the military, college, the workforce, Peace Corps, whatever you're going to do next, celebrate it.

I want to say that you all are growing up in a world right now that I didn't have to grow up in. I mean, every mistake I ever made in my life was not was not telegraphed on social media over and over again for the world to see. So y'all have a harder way to go sometimes. But I also have done a lot of research about Gen Z, which is what you are. And Gen Z is one of the most accepting generations. You really are willing to talk to other people in other places, hear different ideas, opinions. For all the harm the internet does sometimes, it also allows you to talk to somebody in another country across the way. Gen Z, unlike the millennials, Gen Z, you are less concerned with making money. but you're more concerned of having a community impact.

You are very concerned, especially about climate. I think one of the most interesting things I read about Gen Z is that you are less religious but more spiritual than your parents, whatever that might mean. You're less religious but you're more spiritual than your parents. I honestly think that you all are just a phenomenal generation, and I know that Often when young people make mistakes, that's what makes the news and makes the headlines. But the truth is that you all do an amazing job. You take care of one another and you choose and try to take care of the society that's around you. So to the graduates of 2025, to the senior class of 2025, all across our country, but especially Loudoun County. We are so proud of you, and we wish you all the best in every endeavor that you have.

And the last thing I will say to you is please, when you go off to college or the military, wherever you go, call your mother. Otherwise, she's gonna call you and wonder, and may even come to your dorm room. Call your parents, because they love you and they need to hear from you. Would everybody please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance?

Okay, so Supervisor Bricksman will not be with us this evening. She is away. She told us this in plenty of time. She will not be joining us either in the room or virtually. Supervisors Sainz, Kirshner, and should all be here tonight. Some of them, two of them are coming from D.C. and they always have a little bit of traffic. They usually get here about 5 o'clock. And so we do expect to have our other colleagues on the agenda on the day that's with us tonight. There's kind of a lot of things going on right now. So I'm trying to get through the first part of this meeting and not miss anything. First, I'll do additions and deletions to the agenda. I'm gonna announce the Virginia Property Maintenance Code and Enhanced Protective Zoning Enforcement has been deferred to the July 15th meeting.

That will be heard in the July 15th board business meeting. The resolution to recognize Loudoun County's foster parents of the year was approved on May 20th at the board business meeting and we will do a presentation for that tonight and we're very excited about that. I'm gonna add a motion to reconsider the vote on item 2A, the confirmations for the May 20th board business meeting.
