Well, good evening, supervisors, good evening staff, and good evening, Loudoun. I'd like to call to order the June sixteenth, twenty twenty-six Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Business Re meeting. This room has a hearing loop. If you need a hearing assistance, please switch your hearing aid to the telecom mode. If you need a headset, we have those available as well. Pursuant to Virginia's code section two point two dash three seven oh eight point three of the Court of Virginia, Vice Chair Turner requested to participate. In this meeting by electronic communication. A physical quorum of the Board of Supervisors is present in the boardroom, and the board has made arrangements for the voice of Vice Chair Turner to be heard by all persons in the boardroom.
Vice Chair Turner made this request within the required time frame, and the county attorney determined that the request meets the qualifications to participate remotely. The board will record in its minutes that Vice Chair Turner participated from a remote location. in Missouri due to personal reasons. Is Mr. Turner on the line? Mr. Turner, madam, sir. Wonderful, thank you. Um Mr Um Mr. Kirshner, Mr. Sainz, and Mr. Laterno, um uh both uh all three will be here uh as soon as they can. They all of course have f full time jobs and so they're coming from different places and they will get here as soon as as soon as they as as soon as possible. Ms. Brixman, would you please um provide Worth of inspiration and then lead us in Pledge of Allegiance.
Yes, I will, Madam Chair. Um Madam Chair and I attended on Sunday uh race amity day at the Baha'i Center in Sterling and um there was a Baha'i sacred writing in the program that I would like to share. It says racism is a profound deviation from the standard of true morality. It deprives a portion of humanity of the opportunity to cultivate and express the full range of their capability and to live meaningful and flourishing life while blighting the progress of the rest of humankind. It cannot be rooted out by contest and conflict. It must be supplanted by the establishment of just relationships among individuals, communities, and And institutions of society that will uplift all and not designate anyone as other.
The change required is not merely social and economic, but above all moral and spiritual. Please join me in the pledge. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and the cheery republic before which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty to give justice for all. Supervisors, before I read the consent agenda, there is a a two there are two things. One, there's a possible agenda to the a possible addition to the to the agenda. Mr. Sainz, I think, has talked to Mr. Croney about doing an appointment change to a regional committee um in Cog, is that correct? And so we will have that discussion. And I also want to say that there was a mistake um made uh Um when my wonderful but young staff sent out the um uh my BMI on researching the legality of prohibiting federal civil immigration enforcement and county owned facilities, that was never supposed to be on consent.
I d I don't want that on consent. I actually want to have the conversation. It was inadvertently placed on consent. So there would be no need to pull it off because it didn't be long gone there and it was never on my on my um on my uh uh forms it was never on the consent agenda in the beginning. So you won't ne hear that and you and there's no need to pull it off 'cause it was is it was it was that was a mistake. It's a button you push or or a box you check and he just forgot to uncheck the box. So that was all that was. Um so the proposed consent agenda Madam Chair. Um I had a point of inquiry under additions and deletions. Um I'd like to um ask through ask Mr. Hempstreet through the chair, if I may. Um the third closed session item was added after the tentative agenda was sent to the board.
According to our rules of order, number five, general rules governing placing items on the board agenda and establishing the consent agenda, subsection E5, items may only be added after the tentative agenda goes out under.
