Good evening and welcome to the Finance Government Operations and Economic Development Committee meeting. Room has a hearing loop. If you need hearing assistance, switch your hearing aids to telecoil mode. If you need a headset, we have those available as well. Please see the clerk to request one. We have six items on our consent agenda. They are number seven, contract renewal road and construction support services. Number eight, contract renewal construction support services for buildings and parks. Number nine, contract renewal public safety, two-way radios and related equipments. Number ten, art advisory committee annual end of term report for twenty twenty to twenty twenty three. Number eleven, Commission on Aging, Annual End of Term Report twenty twenty three.
Matthew F. Letourneau 8:20
And number twelve parks, repriation and open space board annual end of term. Reports. Do we have a motion to approve the consent agenda? So moved by everybody and seconded by everybody else. We'll say Supervisor Sainz and Chair Randall, just because I'm gonna pick randomly. Um any discussion on that motion? Um I'll just say on behalf of the uh the committee and and hopefully the board to thank the uh those three uh groups, the Art Advisory Committee, the Commission on Aging, and the Parks Rec and Open Space Board. for the work they did in the last term and uh the report that they provided us. And certainly we appreciate uh all of our citizen volunteers who care enough to come and spend time in meetings and help advise the board on those subjects.
Matthew F. Letourneau 9:09
So Rosa Brisbane.
Juli E. Briskman 9:10
Thank you. I I actually wanted to say something similar. I did go through and read the um the committee's um annual reports, which is new for us for our advisory bodies to um provide annual reports to the finance committee and then subsequently to the board. And I was very impressed with the all the work that the PROS Board has done. And also linked in that item is a video from uh our director of Parks and Rec that I watched today and I didn't didn't know that they had done that and so it's it's it's a great video and um I am always surprised at some of the programs that are out there under Parks and Rec that I don't know about and there were a couple in that video that I actually didn't know about.
Juli E. Briskman 9:51
So I would just say go watch the video if you can and uh thanking our advisory bodies. There there is one advisory body that I have some concerns about um about what they're doing, but I will take that and talk about it offline. Thank you.
Matthew F. Letourneau 10:08
W was it one of these? Okay. We'll talk about it offline. That was a little ominous, that's all. Um okay Mr. Saints.
Walter L. Alcorn 10:18
Uh thank you, Chair. I would propose that we add item number fourteen to the consent agenda without your without any objection.
Matthew F. Letourneau 10:27
Well if we're gonna add fourteen, we could add thirteen as well, I think. Um sounds
Walter L. Alcorn 10:32
good to me. I'll add thirteen to fourteen.
Matthew F. Letourneau 10:33
Okay. Um any objection up here? Okay. Well I do get a closing. No, I don't get a closing. I haven't spoken on the item though, so I will s uh oh I did speak. Yes, never mind, I can't speak.
Walter L. Alcorn 10:47
You can take my phone.
Matthew F. Letourneau 10:51
No, I didn't make the motion. I can't do a close I will I will uh No let's find I was just going to note on those two items I was gonna thank we have uh Mayor Mayor Vance and Mayor Wine here, I think. Yes. Hello. How are you? Thank you for being with us th this evening. Um I was just gonna note, so these are these are items where there are cost overruns. Um the Hamilton well is a well that effectively serves an L C P S facility. Um and so you know the obligation kind of is is is one that should be certainly borne more by the county. And then of course the Hillsboro traffic coming project we're all very familiar with. Um Three hundred and ninety two thousand. Um I don't have a problem with with funding it. I did wanna note that, you know, sometimes the county does get some criticism for not being responsive enough to our towns, but um I think we're we're certainly willing to pay our share when
Matthew F. Letourneau 11:51
There are overruns and uh the the the projects benefit all of our shared constituents.
