Thank you, Mr. Chairman. There are two things. One, we have been talking for a long time about the importance of how our application process moves along, especially sometimes as it pertains to attainable homes. And so I want this moment to pass to highlight the fact that we are, and I don't know if this is the right word, but fast tracking is the word I'm going to use. two of our attainable homes developments in this motion. That is important, just knowing some of the numbers. And so I wanted to say thank you to Mr. Turner who actually has been trying to, has been talking to Mr. Kim Hart and doing this and to all the staff who's helped us move this along faster. So thank you for that. I also want to pause and make note of who Henrietta Lacks was because we're doing the Henrietta Lacks Elementary School.

Henrietta Lacks was an African-American woman who died very early in her life of cancer. She had what was called recurring DNA. Her cells divided so quickly that her cells, because of the kind of cells they were, were able to be replicated over and over and over and over again now hundreds of thousands of times. and because of that she is credited, her cells are credited with having been used for so much medical research and helping to solve problems for many conditions and diseases. For a long time her family was not aware that her cells were used and the cell division. They became aware of that fairly recently, and there's been a lot of discussion around what belongs to a person's body after they have passed on, what is the legacy of a person's actual body, but also what is a family of someone who has passed on,

What do they, if any compensation, what is that compensation? Because she had received no compensation. The family had received no compensation. But in medical history, so much of the recurring DNA breakthroughs that have happened have come because of HENRIETTE LEEK'S CELLS AND HER CELL DIVISION. AND I DON'T SOMETIMES I THINK WE DO THINGS AND WE DO IMPORTANT THINGS HERE. WE DO HARD THINGS HERE. WE DO BIG THINGS. AND WE PASS THEM BY SO QUICKLY WE DON'T ALWAYS STOP AND PAUSE AND SAY WHAT IT IS. SO I JUST WANT TO STOP AND PAUSE ON THAT AND REFLECT ON WHO THIS WOMAN WAS. AND IT'S VERY IMPOSSIBLE THAT SHE'S TOUCHED, WELL, SHE HAS TOUCHED MILLIONS OF LIVES AND THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW IT. SO I JUST WANT TO GIVE THAT HISTORY A LITTLE BIT.
