Um my mother has my child, that's all that matters. Good evening everyone. The October twenty-fourth, twenty twenty three Loudoun County Planning Commission public hearing will now come to order. As is our custom, please join me in stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you. A couple of administrative announcements on how we're gonna work things tonight. Um pursuant to code of Virginia section two dot two dash three seven oh eight dot three B. And the planning commission remote participation policy, Commissioner Merithew has requested to participate in this meeting by electronic communication from a remote location that is not open to the public. Commissioner Marathiew has stated that he cannot attend this meeting due to a personal matter and will be joining us from Naples, Florida, which is not open to the public. As required by law, physical quorum of the planning commission is present in the boardroom and the commission has made arrangements for the voice of Commissioner Marathiew to be heard by all persons in the boardroom.
Commissioner Marathiew made this request within the timeframe required by policy, and the county attorney has determined that Commissioner Marathie meets the qualifications to participate remotely. The commission will record in its minutes the specific nature of the personal matter and the location from which Commissioner Merithew participated remotely. For those of us who haven't joined those of you who haven't joined us for a public hearing before. We give you a A little rundown of how we work these things. Members of the public who wish to comment on any item on the agenda may do so. If you are in the boardroom, please fill out a speaker slip and hand it to the Assistant Deputy Clerk of the Planning Commission at the end of the dice to my left.
If you are participating electronically, please call the number on the bottom of your screen. If you signed up to speak after three thirty today, please confirm your name is on the speaker list as public comment sign up closes after twelve noon, as indicated on our website. Please indicate your name and the agenda item you wish to address. Each speaker will have three minutes. Six minutes if you are speaking on behalf of a civic organization. Written comments may be submitted to the Assistant Deputy Clerk who will make copies for the planning commission. The commission may vote on applications tonight and send its recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, or may forward the item to a work session for further consideration before taking a final vote.
Our procedures for public hearing are as follows. There will be a 10-minute staff presentation, followed by commissioners' questions to staff. We will remind each commissioner that tonight each commissioner will have three minutes to ask questions and we will limit the round of commission questions to one round. There is a ten minute applicant presentation when applicable. And the hearing will be open for public comment. Uh after everyone has had a chance to speak, the hearing will be closed. The applicant and staff will have an opportunity to respond to any public comment. Finally, there will be a motion, deliberation, and a vote by the commission. All right.
