Good evening, everyone. The December fifth, twenty twenty-four Loudoun County Planning Commission special work session will now come to order. As is our custom, please let us stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Thank you all. Pursuant to the code of Virginia section two dot two dash three seven oh eight dot three and the planning commission remote participation policy, Commissioner Jasper has requested to participate in this meeting by electronic communication. As required by law, physical quorum of the planning commission is present in the boardroom and the commission has made arrangements for the voice of Commissioner Jasper to be heard by all persons in the boardroom. Commissioner Jasper made this request within the required timeframe, and the county attorney has determined that Commissioner Jas Jasper's request meets the qualifications to participate remotely. The commission will record in its minutes that Commissioner Jasper participated remotely from her residence in Loudoun due to an illness.
Okay, we have one item on our agenda. We're gonna jump right into it. Uh work session item number one, CPAM twenty twenty-four-zero zero zero one and Zoam twenty twenty-four-zero zero zero one. Data center standards and locations phase one. I am going to uh Take a moment to give you guys some procedural Um Thoughts um before we start our discussion. We do have a couple of extra seats at that end that can be filled either by staff who need to come up to answer a question or if we call folks up from the audience, um those seats will probably those people will rotate and change so they're they're not permanent seats, um, but there is a microphone and and an end spot there. um for someone if uh We are not having any presentations aside from staff.
We are gonna ask everyone. Um commissioners and our our uh attendees before we start the discussion, just especially with the shared microphone situation as well. Uh We're gonna ask you to keep uh commission to keep side conversations to a minimum. Um uh please don't interrupt each other if possible. It's a little I think it's we're a little more prone to that in this environment setup, but it is important that we not talk over each other for those who are participating remotely and at viewing at home, as well as for ourselves. Um So please keep your microphone off unless you've been recognized. Um feel free to give me a hand signal. I'll try to keep an eye out for those and I will recognize folks. Uh if you're in the audience, we're gonna ask you to um
Practice some discretion if there's statements you don't agree with or you're concerned about. Um in in past meetings we've had some rumbling and things and not only is it disruptive to us, it it's picked up on the recordings and staff and everything else. So Um if you could, uh if you need to have a side conversation, please leave the room to do so. Um and so we can try to get through this evening with as little distraction as as possible. Okay, our goal tonight is as it's been at the last couple of meetings where we've taken up this item. We are not going to have a finalized motion at the end of this today, but we are going to have a lot of discussion to continue to build the framework that will guide staff as they put together that motion for our future review.
So um again really the the focus tonight is is uh information sharing and gathering um for the commission. So all right. I think we are ready. Whenever staff is ready, I'm told it's all you.
