So Mr. Chair, before we get started, I do want to introduce Wa Dow. He is one of our new principal planners and land use review. Uh he transferred over to us from zoning, he's still from zoning. And prior to that he was working for uh Virginia Beach. So uh he has done some work in front of the B Z A already, so Happy to have him. See ya.
We did also hire a uh senior planner. So we were four we were fully staffed for all of forty eight hours and then Darby went on pat paternity leave. Uh he had he is coming back. Uh his son was born, um James Archer Metcalfe. So he's home on paternity leave for the next couple of weeks.

All right, folks, the September eleventh, twenty twenty-five Loudoun County Planning Commission work session will come to order and is our uh custom let's stand for the pledge of allegiance. What religions to the flag from the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation,
under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
And before we get started, um, as I'm sure everyone is aware, today marks a uh the anniversary of a very tragic day for our country. I can't talk about this without getting emotional. But uh because of our proximity to some of the events that unfolded, uh many folks in our region were more directly affected. It affected me both um personally and professionally, um, I'd like to ask that we observe a moment of silence in remembrance of those lost on that day twenty four years ago. Thank you.
All right, thank you very much. Uh so we'll move on with the uh review and adoption of the minutes uh from the July 10th um work session. So move. And if uh could have a motion to approve, motion to approve, and seconded by uh motion made by Commissioner Myers, seconded by Commissioner Banks. Any discussion on the motion? All those in favor say aye. Aye. Aye, opposed, that motion will carry eight zero one. with Commissioner Frank absent. Uh next item uh will be disclosures and I will start on my right and work my way down.

Um uh so yesterday I met with Ben Wales and the team representing Northfield on the Dulles Plaza development. Um and On Wednesday, last Wednesday, I don't have the date, Cliff, but Cliff and I met with uh community members at um in the Oatlands Chase neighborhood concerning the Happy Pause canine uh application. Yeah,
that was September second. Okay, uh Commissioner Combs.
How are the July 10 minutes adopted and what disclosures follow the opening?
Uh thank you Mr Chair. On August fourth, uh I met with Supervisor Turner, Rachel Mai and Colleen Gillis and representatives of ATAPCO regarding the West Belmont application that's been before this commission. And a reminder if I may um Mr Chairman, with respect to our first legislative item tonight, residences at Dulles Plaza. I've previously given a disclosure uh regarding my firm's representation of the application of the applicant. And so like the public hearing, I will not be participating in discussion tonight at work session uh for that application.

uh where to go. Um Yeah. On uh September fourth I met with um Ben Wales from Kirrata and Steve Collins from the applicant represent uh for the um uh Dulles um housing application today. And then on um Monday of this week, um I met with um I'm sorry, on Tuesday this week I met with Mike Romeo from Walsh Colucci, Charles Judd, um from JK Landholdings and um the rest of the applicant team regarding uh the Valley Commerce Center application.

Um on August one I had a phone conversation with um Ben Lay in regards to the Oak Hill. Um Ag District Roval. Um on September the thirtieth we did have the Zoac Committee meeting, which I serve on representing the Planning Commission. I just want to let the board members know that. We did take a vote to m to uh send a motion to the border supervisors. Um to request that the initiate a legislative process for both a z for the zoning ordinance and for the general plan. uh amendment to look at active recreation in the floodplain and in Riscad, uh to go to the Board for Supervisors um to to see if we can get that moving forward.
