All right, good evening everyone. I'm gonna call the meeting to order. It is great to see so many familiar faces today joining us. Thank you so much for being here. We're going to start with introductions and we will start to my right with our clerks.

My name is George Dunlap and I'm led by people of District 3. Good evening, everyone. My name is Mark Jarrell and I've been elected by the people of District 4. And I also have the honor of serving as chairman of the board. I do want to recognize and shout out our members of Park and Rec that are here. I would ask you guys just to stand to be recognized right here at the top of the meeting.
What's my last name? Yes, ma'am. Good evening. My name is Vilma DeLeake, and I represent the most powerful district in the county. That's District 2. Welcome. Will all seniors please stand? None tonight. One. Janice. Janice, stop it. Two.

Good evening. I'm Laura Meyer, and I represent District 5.

Good evening, everyone.
I'm Susan Rodriguez McDowell, and I have the honor of being elected by the people of District 6.
Good evening and welcome. I'm Mike Bryan, Mecklenburg County Manager.
Good evening. I'm Ed Yeager from the Office of County Attorney. I'm the Senior Deputy County Attorney here on behalf of Tyrone Wake.
Thank you. Tonight, our invocation and our Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Commissioner Dunlap. Would you bow your heads, please? Heavenly Father, we come to thee as humble as we know how, thanking you for all your many wonderful blessings, thanking you for all the activities of our limb, thanking you, Father, for being able to be in this space. Lord, we thank you for all your many and wonderful blessings. We thank you for the opportunity to serve the people of Mecklenburg County. And in doing so, Father, we ask that you would give us the strength, the courage, and the wisdom to do those things that would be pleasing in your sight. We ask a special blessing for those who are fighting an unjust war.
We ask a special blessing for those who are homeless, those that are behind prison walls. We ask that you would help them to realize that you are God and above thee there is no other, that you have all power in your hand, that you can destroy and you will defend. Bless us all, Father, with the things that we've asked, these things we ask with the forgiveness of all our many sins. This is my prayer for Christ's sake. Amen. Amen. Join us for the Pledge of Allegiance, please. Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.
All right, thank you everyone. We always start our meetings with setting the tone with our, and reminding everyone of our mission and our vision. Our mission is to serve Mecklenburg County residents by helping improve their lives and community. Our vision is Mecklenburg County will be a community of pride and choice for people to live, learn, work, and recreate. Our board budget priorities for FY26-27 are as follows. economic development, education, environmental stewardship, health equity, and wellness services for seniors, workforce development, and reducing racial disparities. And we lift these items up, um, not just out of, um, uh, practice, but we do it because these are the things that guide our decisions and, uh, guide the discussion that we have.
and we'd like to make sure that everybody understands those things that are the guardrails that we use to make our decisions. With that being said, we're gonna move to the next part of our agenda. That is our awards and recognition portion. And at this time, I'm gonna turn to Commissioner Yvette Townsend Ingram to read a proclamation because July, 2026 is guess what month?
