With respect to the applicability of SB three thirty. Housing Accountability Act, including builders' remedy. And the city's ability to condition approval Of the housing development project located at twenty six forty five through twenty six fifty five Fayette Drive. on compliance with certain development standards and requirements. The settlement became final today, november nineteenth, twenty twenty four. And the general substance of the agreement is that if the city approves The project entitlements subject to the agreed upon conditions of approval attached to the agreement.

And we are happy it's um Small Business Saturday in Mountain View proclamation is what we're gonna have a presentation on. And um we're happy to be joined this evening by Jean Bolangjoyer, um manager of Red Rock Coffee to accept this proclamation. Jean, can you join me at the lectern?

You too. Yeah. Hello, good to see you. Thank you very much. Thank you so much for coming. All right. So, why don't you come on this site so people can see us? All right. Whereas the city of Mountain View, California celebrates our local small businesses and contributions they make to our local economy and community. According to the United States Small Business Administration, there are 34.7 million small businesses in the United States. Small businesses represent 99.7%. of firms with paid employees. Small businesses are responsible for 61.1% of net new jobs created since 1995. And small businesses employ 45.9% of the employees in the private sector of the United States.

Why does the council proclaim Small Business Saturday and recognize local businesses?

And whereas 68 cents of every dollar spent at a small business in the United States stays in that local community. And every dollar spent in a small business creates an additional 48 cents in local business activity as a result of employees and local businesses purchasing local goods and services. Whereas 59% of consumers aware of Small Business Saturday shopped or ate at small independently owned retailer or restaurant on Small Business Saturday, 2023. And whereas the City of Mountain View supplies our local businesses that create jobs, boost local economy, and preserve our communities. And whereas advocacy groups as well as public and private organizations across the country have endorsed the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday.
