So we'll move on to item four, which is 4.1, our Rental Housing Committee applicant interviews. The purpose of this meeting this evening is for the Council to interview applicants for the three openings on the Rental Housing Committee and make a recommendation for adoption at the March 25th, 2025 City Council meeting. We'll take in-person speakers first, if there are any. Each speaker will have three minutes. I am not seeing any in-person or virtual public comment. So I will bring this item back to council. Per the selection process outlined in council policy number K-2, interviews will be conducted in a panel format. Each applicant will receive the same amount of time to answer each question and the question selected by the council will be asked in randomized round robin order to the applicants for each body. The Council may ask a limited number of clarifying questions in the event an applicant's answer was unclear or otherwise not understood. Clarifying questions should not be used to allow an applicant an additional opportunity to expand on an original response.

so i have a couple changes to make i'm not super married to them i think the Usually the people we interview work it out, no matter how good or bad our questions are. But question number two, which is proposed, is tell us about the role of the Rental Housing Committee and the role of its legal counsel in the Rental Housing Committee decision-making process. I'm not sure that I need the full role. Maybe just the first half of that is what I would go with. Tell us about the role of the Rental Housing Committee and then reduce it to one minute. and then important issues for next year, I could also reduce that one to one minute. But like I said, not super married to that. I'd love to hear other people's comments.

Council Member Shel-Walter. Yeah, I think one of the things that's so important with the Rental Housing Committee is the hearing officers. So I think maybe we could substitute in the second question, or maybe we could add a third question, something about, tell us about the role of the hearing officers. Or maybe we could put it in the second, anyway, something along those lines.
