Thank you, Nora. I think we're all excited because we have Lily Mae's barbecue food for dinner, and it's just delicious, and I'm just so excited to eat it after our meeting. So everyone dig in. She's a Santa Clara business, a small Santa Clara business, and you're going to see her food truck located in various places throughout the city. So if you see her, make sure you give her a try because her food is out of this world. So we're going to go around the room and introduce ourselves to each other, including our staff. Why don't we start with Council Member Park?

Yvonne Ciartan 17:03
Yvonne Ciartan, I am a Commissioner on the Historic and Landmarks Commission.
Anna Vargas Smith 17:09
Anna Vargas Smith, chair for the HLC Commission, and a few other things in the city too.
Lisa Gillmor 17:18
Patricia Leung, Commissioner HLC, was chair for about three years before I passed the baton to Anna just now, so yeah. Very good. Well, thank you all for your service to the city of Santa Clara. We really couldn't do what we do without you. And that's the reason for these meetings, these dinner meetings, not only just get to eat really good food from Santa Clara, but we get to meet with you, listen to you and hear about your plans, what you're working on, what you want us to pay attention to. And really, this is for you to let us know what you're doing. So I spoke to the chair ahead of time, and you said, Anna, that you have a presentation for us. So when you're ready, move ahead. It's on, we have a PowerPoint, correct?
Lisa Gillmor 18:08
Yes, okay.
Anna Vargas Smith 18:11
Well, thank you for, we sure missed meeting with you guys. It's been, what, three years, it seems?
Yeah.
Anna Vargas Smith 18:19
It is on. Oh, sorry. Closer to me. Such a pleasure seeing everyone here tonight because we really missed having this meeting with the city council every single year. Anna,
Lisa Gillmor 18:31
can you put it, is it on? Some of them, okay. Yeah, point it right at you.
Anna Vargas Smith 18:39
One more time, third time's a charm. Can you hear me now? All right. Thank you for having us here tonight. We missed having this meeting with you all every single year. It almost feels like it would never happen again. In fact, Patricia had said she's been waiting three years for this moment. We got organized at the last meeting to make sure we got our ideas clearly stated on how you could really help us. Two of us here present tonight live in the old quad, and I grew up in the old quad, so it means a great deal to me. So many things that we love about Santa Clara originated in the old quad, so it's important that our commission protects all that and makes sure that future generations get to enjoy it as much as we have.
Anna Vargas Smith 19:27
So I wanted to, we can move straight to the priorities. So some of you who have served on HLC are very familiar with what we do and have worked with HLC, so understand completely what they do.
