Okay, Madam Mayorley, I'd like to read the statement of behavioral standards for this evening. The City of Santa Clara has adopted a code of ethics and values and behavioral standards for public meetings to promote and maintain the highest levels of conduct. This includes mutual respect, robust discussion, and allowing city business to be done in an efficient and consistent manner. Please note that as the presiding officer, the mayor's direction in matters of process and decorum should be followed, and that use of the Galvel All conversations must conclude and everyone in attendance should come to order and attention. Welcome and thank you for your participation.
That it? Okay. Uh good evening, everyone. For today's meeting, the council is back in person and is conducting its meeting in a hybrid manner. The public is welcome to attend in person, and the city continues to use a Zoom feature to allow participation from your home or office. Members of the public can still join via the link andor call into the Zoom meeting phone number shown on the screen now. So we're gonna move on now to the council agenda. Okay, we have uh interviews for various commissions today. And our first um item is item number one, action to conduct applicant interviews and appoint five applicants to the senior advisory commission to serve three part partial terms ending June 30th, 2026, one partial term ending June 30th, 2026.
seven and one partial term ending June thirtieth, twenty twenty eight. So uh the recommendation is to appoint five applicants. So um city clerk I know you have spoken to all of these applicants and have um given them a time to interview. Yes. Yes. So can you uh please explain What uh they will be doing though will come up and give us give us an opening statement of how is it three minutes?
Yes, thank you, Madam Mayor. Um Nora Pimentel, Assistant City Clerk. So this evening, as you stated, you will be interviewing five applicants. We initially received six applications, which is policy to receive one more over than those that we are filling. However, that sixth applicant did uh withdraw, so we still are at five. Um all the applicants have been apprised of tonight's process, which is three minutes of introduction. Followed by council questions and they've all been um given those questions and then they have one minute closing remarks. And fine following the um interviews then council will deliberate and make their appointment this evening.
Okay, so it it's up to the council since there's five applicants and five openings what we do at the end of this the interview session.
