I was seven.
He was a fighter pilot, flew F-18s or whatever, A-4s.
He was a great man.
It's like you never even really saw the guy, but you knew what he did.
And that was like what you need.
And it would have been great if he came home from Vietnam and you spent a lot of time together, but it was still good that you knew what kind of guy he was.
And it's like I see my kids as much as I can, but I'm more like...
I need you to know what kind of guy I am more than we need to necessarily watch a movie together.
And that, I think,
For fathers, I think that's really important.
I know people go, like, my dad was never home, but he worked.
He worked.
He took care of everybody.
And they go, like, we got a little soft.
Like, dads need to be hugging everyone all the time.
And you need to stay home all the time and tell everyone you love them.
Your kids need to know you provide and you work hard.
Take care of business.
Treat people with respect.
That's one thing I learned from my dad.
