And I want you to look at that first object that represents a story that the women in your family don't succeed in love.
That somehow there is some invisible force
pattern a curse a fate written somewhere that means that relationships either don't work or are very difficult that failure in love is what your family line does some people would consider this a generational curse and what if that invisible force is real
but not because the curse is real, but because that is exactly how beliefs work.
A belief is an invisible force that creates that self-fulfilling prophecy that history repeats itself again and again.
And then look at the second object that represents the story that
your prosthetic leg makes you less desirable that romantic love is somehow not fully accessible or available to you that you should focus on other things but do not really truly consider yourself worthy of such a thing that's for others and not for you
Pursuing that would only lead to disappointment, especially since there is this invisible force reducing its probability anyway.
And there is something powerful in naming a story, a fear, a belief.
Like a child, scared of the monster under the bed finally having the courage to look under their bed.
And when you truly look, sometimes the thing itself dissolves.
And as you look at these two objects floating in front of you, notice that they're not as solid as they seemed before.
a belief is not a fact a belief is simply a thought that was repeated often enough or delivered with enough authority or arrived during a moment when you were young and unguarded and looking for an explanation these are thoughts and ideas like seeds that grew roots the way a song gets stuck in your head
not because it's true but simply because that song was played often enough for you to recall it and think about this for a moment if someone you trusted told you today that something you believed your whole life was simply incorrect a misunderstanding
piece of wrong information, isn't it likely that you would update your belief immediately?
Without ceremony, without years of therapy, you'd simply know and believe things differently.
Beliefs can change in an instant when the right information arrives,
and the right information is here so let's look closer at these stories perhaps for the very first time because that story that your family is cursed in love I think it came from watching the women before you struggle
make sense of heartache.
Taken from a culture rich in meaning and story and pattern making.
