Like there's, there's a lot of girls now, you know, definitely like when I go to, I've been a really only like a few hardcore shows over the last like five years or whatever, but I'll go and see, um,
girls just like in the pit so much more than i ever yeah recall and i'm just like what the but part of it too probably is the fact that i'm in california now because i feel like in boston the pits were like so unbelievably violent yeah that was the east coast thing was much more if you're a woman and you wanted to be in that environment you just have to be out of your mind you have some problems if you're going through some things yeah yeah for sure i mean dude one of the most violent pits i've ever seen in my life play a show in hawaii this is a while ago 15 years ago
Really?
Samoans in the pit?
Yeah.
You know?
2003 Metal Fest in Worcester with just Converge's set in particular just stands out to me.
I don't think I still have seen that much violence to date.
Yeah.
I remember there's a good hardcore interview I did a long time ago.
It was White Trash Rob from Blood for Blood and Ramallah.
And I remember seeing Ramallah play like one of their first ever shows that I believe it was the ICC Church in Austin, which is like part of Boston.
And like they start the first couple notes and it's like, you know, it's young kids for the most part in the venue.
And then like the biggest dudes I've ever seen in my life are just moshing with brass knuckles on and just absolutely destroying people.
Yeah.
And like the biggest smiles on their face.
And it's kind of like a wink and a nod between like the band and these dudes that like this is part of it.
Like you are our homies and you are here to make this show as reprehensible as possible.
Because that's like that's going to tell the world that we're like a real serious band.
But this is also like you would just never see footage of bands.
