Yeah, because when I bring this sort of stuff up, I go up to the States fairly regularly.
I was over there last week.
And when I bring this kind of stuff up with counterparts in the US, anyone who works for a tech company, I can see their brows starting to furrow and their lips starting to furrow.
And it's not quite a sneer, but they start to... And then the inevitable comes out.
And they start to talk about European socialism.
And then the next thing out of their mouth, usually, is the outcome of that.
And what they will say is, your intentions are good, but your outcomes are bad.
And they will list off GDP growth rates.
They'll compare the US and the EU.
And they do have some evidence to show that over the last 15, 20 years...
A time when Europe, the EU has embraced a lot more regulation than the US.
US economic growth has outpaced the EU by quite a lot, I think by about 40 or 50%.
And that is kind of seen as, you know, a top Trump card, if you would excuse the pun.
In fact, it was a point made by the US ambassador to the EU, Andrew Poster.
He was here a few weeks ago.
We interviewed him and he...
We had 45 minutes with him, a bunch of us Irish reporters.
And he was banging on about this for about seven minutes of that 45 minutes.
He kept going on about the difference in economic growth between Europe and the U.S.,
And the point he was trying to make was we're being strangled by regulation in Europe.
