I think it's very important that they time it well.

And that's the key here.

Whether, it's always the question, whether a leader of a party will go out like Leo Varadkar did on his own terms, which was very unusual because usually they're torn out kicking and screaming.

So what will be the style of Micheál Martin?

He's very much, I suppose, in his position as Tánaiste.

He served as Minister for Foreign Affairs or Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs.

And with that, he has been quite an outward-looking senior member of Cabinet and Tánaiste and leader of Fianna Fáil.

And in Taoiseach, I think that's one of the criticisms that he has is he's possibly too outward-looking and too internationally focused and not focused enough on the domestic issues at home.

I also think that when you get to a certain level, surely, of where you are in your career, in any career...

You're there so long and you progress and you get to the top.

And the top often is those macro, big picture, broader looking pieces.

And I think that's kind of where Micheál Martin finds himself.

He's done it all.

He's been through health and he made a lot of changes there, I suppose, and what he did with...

The smoking ban in particular, something that he brings up all the time as an issue he likes to remind everybody that he achieved.

But, you know, you go through politics and you reach a stage, I think, where those macro bigger issues, you can see that they're important and you want to focus on them.

And I think that's where he finds himself.

But actually, probably what Fianna Fáil needs is someone to refocus, turn their head and focus on that domestic grassroots issue.

And that was something that the Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party heard on a number of occasions on Monday.
