A number of TDs coming up saying, you know, that we've lost that middle ground support and they're very worried about where that leaves.

Like, is he too pragmatic?

Yeah, has the reins, you know, and can ride those issues out as they come up domestically.

Now, you know, he has always, I suppose, tackled those issues head on.

And as we said, he hasn't faced a credible threat to his leadership yet.

in all his time.

And we only saw the cracks appearing really with the Jim Gavin presidential race debacle and dilemma.

And, you know, this dilemma and actually, you know, Micheál Martin himself called it that the government faced a dilemma this week.

And these seem to be the two issues that have really seen the cracks forming.

And I suppose the question now is...

The EU presidency is coming up.

That means that we're going to have a host of EU leaders on our doorstep here coming to Ireland.

I think Micheál Martin will want to see that out.

So whether he goes on his own terms, I think if he goes on his own terms, it's not going to be before that.

I think if someone mounts a heave...

they will question the timing of doing it before that as well.

for the top job the same sort of you know going after it as Simon Harris said and I think you know in a different style of leadership we saw a couple of years ago when Micheál Martin had Jack Chambers put in as the deputy leader of the party

And he appointed him as deputy leader after it was vacant for four years.

So we were kind of like, oh, this is Michal Martin's pick.

He's kind of picking Jack Chambers to be his chosen one and the person, the anointed one, the person that will replace him on Michal Martin's choosing.
