Just as Christ loved us, just as Christ loved us, here it is again.
And gave himself up for us.
Why does it keep saying that this is love?
And it says...
Christ gave himself up for us.
Christ gave himself up for us.
Christ gave himself up for us.
So you know the first time love is mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures?
Do you know?
The word love, the Hebrew word for love.
The first mention of love, which in Hebrew, ahava, ahava.
occurs in Genesis 22, 2, when God instructs Abraham to take his son, saying, Take now your son, your only son, whom you love.
Isaac, and do what?
Sacrifice.
And give his life up.
Isn't that interesting?
And then it's defined later in the New Testament as Jesus gave himself up for us.

I would not be sitting here.
I don't know what would have happened, but, I mean, the Lord had a plan.
