And it became ultimately this self-giving, sacrificial love.
And so another thing I found interesting is that verse in 1 John, because it started in 3.16 when he just made this profound statement.
He said, this is how we know what love is.
I mean, you want to know what love is?
We can save you some Google search.
Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
Period.
And you know what I found fascinating I'd never noticed before?
I'm going to give you a couple of other verses here that seems to say the same thing when defining love.
Galatians 2.20 is the one that says, I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live.
But watch what it says.
But Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
I don't know.

Ephesians 5.
He says, be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children.
Same language John used.
And live a life of love.
