So my question is, how do I get back, sorry, how do I get back up after losing my job for the second time?
So my question is, how do I get back, sorry, how do I get back up after losing my job for the second time?
Um, so we moved up, me and my wife moved out here to, uh, Omaha. Um, sorry. Okay. Me and my wife moved out here to Omaha, um, and we, for jobs and because it was cheaper. Um, so we did that. Um, the first time, um, I worked in IT for a company, um, and I actually thought it was going really well.

And then due to some parts, some of it's my fault, miscommunication with my manager at the time they saw fit to let me go the first time. And the first time I was able to get back up, I... feel like I was able to get back up and running as soon as I, um, as soon as it happened, I found, I was down and I got back up and found another job.

And, um, for the second job, I was there for six months and it was, um, there was a six month probationary period, uh, cause it was for the local government, uh, it for them. And, um, At the end of that six months, I was under the impression that they were going to keep me. And so me and my wife, actually, we decided to move forward with starting our family. And we found out they were expecting.

Um, well, so looking back, I feel, I don't know why it took me too long, so long to get up and do anything. I finally had the courage to go and do DoorDash after, which is okay, but it's not great.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in college, and I never did medication until this. Actually, I noticed it was an issue. I realized it was being an issue with my last job, so I did go in to get help, but it was just too late, I think.

There's a lot of downtime, but when there are projects that I actually did really get invested in, and I did really enjoy those projects, but just the downtime was hell.

We are a medieval re-enactment society. We've been active for over 50 years. We are people of all different trades... Coming together to reenact the period of the Hundred Years' War, so mid-1300s. And we do a whole variety of things, from actual combat with swords, shields, armour. We do archery. You may see in the arena soon we do some dance.

We also have members of a group who dress up as royalty, people who do cooking, various blacksmithing, and have a very good fun time doing it as well.

We always try to do it in a safe environment. You can see from my sword here, it is real steel. You can hear it, especially from this ting. Oh, yes. Because no sharp points, of course. So we try and be as authentic as possible. We always get new people coming in every year. On the whole, we will train mostly during the winter months.

Then when the show season starts, which is roughly end of March, beginning of April, everyone comes together, does a show, does a display, pack down, and everyone has a good time. Some of us have been used for film work as well at the time. Oh, right, yes, of course.

Whenever they say, we need people who are trained in medieval combat, who have their own armour, who know how to use them in a safe environment, they'll ask.

The majority of weaponry is made by an actual expert. That being said, there are members who make their own leather craft, used to get an actual anvil, make things out. A lot of the armour we wear does tend to have to be adapted or modified to fit the wearer. Thank you very much. Have a good day. Thank you.

Good. How can I help? Well, I have done so well. I started doing Dave Ramsey... about five years before Dave Ramsey started doing Dave Ramsey, and I discovered you on the radio in the 90s, I said, I'm already doing that. I'm already doing that. This is great. It was confirmation from what I was already doing.

So now I'm 68 years old. I survived about a cancer this year, so I'm a little tighter than I used to be. But I'm doing fine. I'm doing great. My net worth is $5.5 million. I've got about $2.9 of that in the stock market in mutuals. I've got about $200K in cash. And I'm living in a house that's worth $1.5 million in Seattle with a lake view.

I can't believe it. Proud of you. Because I never spent more money than I made. There you go. It was just obvious to me. You make so much, you spend less, and you save. So that's where I am now. So now that I'm 68 and getting a little tighter, I've been retired for a long, long time, and I spend most of my time doing volunteer work when I do anything. Anyway, I've got a duplex.

It's about an hour and 15-minute drive from here, and it's worth between $800K and a million. And it's bringing in about $50K a year. It's increasing in value by about $50K a year. So... It's net worth, you know, in value is about $100K a year. And I'm just getting tired of managing it because, as you know, real estate isn't passive. Every year something happens.

One of the tenants moves out, we've got to turn it around, or we get a water leak, or something happens. And I told my wife, I said, I'm tired of managing this thing.

Well, do I sell the place and get a REIT to just, you know, be done with it? Or do I get a professional management company?
