Free will in this sense is a kind of supernatural entity that is religious in the way I'm talking about.

what I'm trying to call people's attention to is that what we see in traditional religions is also present in everyone's lives.
We have invisible metaphysical assumptions that govern how we perceive the world and how we make moral judgments.
