and it was an opportunity to get a guy who can be a true difference maker for them and a force multiplier.
And so they effectively have taken a room, the defensive tackle room, that was a weakness last year and turned it into one of the strongest in the NFL.
They got Jonathan Allen, who's coming over from Minnesota, who's a great player for a lot of years in Washington.
They've got T.J.
Slayton, who's a good depth piece.
Hill has been a really good player for them, former teammate of Lawrence's from New York.
And then Chris Jenkins, who was a second-round pick for them a couple years ago, they go five deep at that position now.
And the hope is that that's going to make everyone better.
And the way they viewed it was there's no one like Dexter Lawrence in this year's draft.
The other thing that I think is sort of interesting here is, you know, the contract.
They signed him to a deal that's effectively a $3 or $70 million contract.
That's less than $24 million a year, which, you know, in an environment where Micah Parsons is getting $46, Aiden Hutchinson is getting $45, Will Anderson is now getting $50, that's a relative bargain.
And recent history shows that guys at that position do last.
Chris Jones is still somebody team's game plan around.
He's going to be 32 years old this summer.
Aaron Donald was dominant until he retired at 32.
So this is a guy they feel like they can get three or four really good years out of that's going to be better than what they would have gotten at 10.
And, you know, somebody that offenses have to worry about the minute they break the huddle and have to game plan for the week ahead.
Yeah, I think so, sure.
