That doesn't mean we're not going to have ups and downs.
That doesn't mean I'm not going to have to report on stuff that's uncomfortable for you.
I've had to report on guys I really like being fired.
I've had to report on things that have happened within the teams where I know the decision makers really well, and it's not going to bode well for them that I'm reporting those things.
Um, and you try to be as respectful as you can.
And like my guiding light on it has always been, I'm treating these like relationships that I'm going to have after all of that, you know, um, and to build those relationships, Dan, and this is where I'm going to bring it back around.
You know, you have to get to know these people as you would anyone else in your life, you know?
And so we all find ways to build relationships with these people.
know it's funny i've used this with a i don't want to be crass about it but i've used this line with journalism classes before because i think you know college kids relate to this i mean it's it's sort of like hitting on a girl like built source building in the nfl is sort of like hitting on a girl in the bar you know what i mean like and here's why because there's a little awkwardness to it and the other party knows exactly what you want from them and so you know
You know, so you, but you have to build trust with those as barriers.
You know what I mean?
Like, and so, you know, you do your best to do that.
And I do think like the result of this, again, regardless of what actually happened here is, is there's more scrutiny on these sorts of relationships for sure.
And there's a job to do.
And I've had to explain this to some guys.
I remember in 2016, I reported on what was happening in the Rams building, and it was a mess.
It was their first year in LA, and the thing was crumbling.
