Over the last century, average life expectancy has risen steadily across the world, thanks largely to advancements in medicine and healthcare.
In short, people are living longer.
In fact, 1 in 10 children in the UK today are expected to live past 100.
But lifespan statistics aren't the whole story.
We know that, in practice, many people spend their later years in poor health.
dealing with age-related diseases.
It's viewed as a routine part of aging.
But does it have to be this way?
Can we stay healthy as we age?
