She can be found either liable or not liable for what she's been accused of.

but she can't be found guilty in the traditional sense because she's been found not to be mentally able to follow the court process.

That does not mean she is not represented.

So in Turkington case, a very, very prominent barrister in Northern Ireland is in court every day representing Eleanor Donaldson, but she is not there and she is not participating in the process.

And all we will hear from Eleanor Donaldson is the police statements that she made at the time, because at that time she was found to be fit to participate in the process.

But in the two years since,

we've been told that her mental health has deteriorated to the point where she can't participate in the process.

Both have pleaded not guilty and we are now, obviously, in the second week, at the end of the second week of the prosecution case, the prosecution are presenting their evidence.

That will probably go on until the start of next week.

It could potentially end today, but it depends how quickly the court gets through the remaining witnesses.

And then at that case, the prosecution will close their case and the defence will then present their defence of Geoffrey Donaldson because he is pleading not guilty to all 18 offences.

And they involve two female complainants who we have been told to refer to as Witness A and Witness B. Witness A being the younger of the two female complainants and Witness B being the older.

So we had Witness A went first.

She was the first person to give evidence.

And what she alleges is what they have broken down into what they, the prosecution calls sort of three incidents that she can remember, that she says that she can remember in her evidence.

One of those, I suppose, what's being classed as the more serious of the allegations is that Geoffrey Donaldson, she alleges, was over the top of her with a bright light.

Looking at her, I think she said private parts

on one occasion, genitals on another occasion.

And the other is that she says that Geoffrey Donaldson kissed her on an occasion and put his tongue in her mouth.

And on another occasion, she says that Geoffrey Donaldson put his hand up her top and in and around her breast area and assaulted her in that way.
