Alison, there were three witnesses today, a Presbyterian minister and his wife and the husband of Witness A. He became emotional as he gave evidence this morning.

He was walked through his evidence by Rosemary Walsh, KC, for the prosecution.

He was then briefly cross-examined by the defence barristers.

That's Ciarán Vaughan, KC, for Geoffrey Donaldson and Ian Turkington for Elnur Donaldson.

And as you say, he was tearful at times when he gave evidence.

We can say that many of the details of his evidence cannot be reported at this stage for legal reasons.

Just before we move on to this afternoon, we can report on Geoffrey Donaldson's reaction to what he heard today.

He has been making notes as a habit during this court case.

Did he react in any other way today?

Now, this afternoon, giving evidence to the trial, a Presbyterian cleric said he was supporting the woman known as Complainant A and her husband back in 2022.

And he said that they were referred to him by a church colleague and that while that support was ongoing, he was contacted by Geoffrey Donaldson.

What can you tell us about that?

Just a reminder to the listener that both defendants, Geoffrey Donaldson and his wife, Eleanor, deny all wrongdoing.

The minister's wife also briefly gave evidence.
