The court was told that Eleanor Donaldson did nothing when informed of abuse claims.

And of course, just to remind the listener that both Jeffrey Donaldson and Eleanor Donaldson deny all of the charges against them.

So the court heard that the woman had spoken with four, potentially five separate counsellors over the years and was asked why she didn't disclose all of this to the police.

She was also questioned about allegations that Jeffrey Donaldson put his tongue in her mouth and moved it around and that she had told police that this happened on several occasions.

So Mr. Turkington, he questioned her about that evidence.

Yeah, so he did say again to her, I understand you're making this up as you are going along, he suggested.

And she said, I'm here to tell the truth and I am telling the truth.

So he did question what she was saying in some detail.

It was a relatively short day of evidence today.

Geoffrey Donaldson's wife planted a listening device in his car after becoming suspicious he was having an affair, a court in Newry has heard today.

The 63-year-old former MP is on trial in relation to 18 alleged historical sexual offences.

The charges date from 1985 to 2008 and include a charge of rape.

Geoffrey Donaldson denies all of the charges against him.

His wife Eleanor of Dublin Hill Road in Drummore in County Down is charged with aiding and abetting.

She denies the charges.

She will not be in court and is facing a trial of the facts as she has been ruled medically unfit to stand trial.
