The Devin Williams deal, I think was also a very fair deal for what it is.
Three years, $51 million.
That's, that's a pretty good deal.
Or a Polanco two years, 40, very fair.
Not kind of not crippling the Luke Weaver deal two years, I think 20 million or 22, something like that.
Not crazy.
So, I mean, they went out and made these kind of quiet moves to plug these holes, like you mentioned, that they didn't trade for.
Now, the question that I kind of look back at it all is, there's always going to be the what if, right?
What if they traded for this guy?
What if they traded for that guy?
Do you think...
Number one, do you think the Pete Alonzo thing kind of... I mean, I know a lot of... It was interesting to kind of hear and see everyone's perspective on it because there's some people that absolutely took it as a slap in the face.
And there's other people that were like, no, he got his bag.
Like, good for him.
He went where he went.
Do you think that was kind of...
The way to kind of, I mean, I know that the Mets, I don't know where the Mets landed on that all, but is that a way to kind of tell the fan base, hey, man, we're kind of blowing this up without blowing this up?
Is that kind of what the consensus was?
And I don't think, and I'll be honest, I don't think it made a whole lot of sense for you guys to give them a seven-year deal.
It just didn't make a lot of business sense for what the Mets are trying to do.
