Just to make things complicated.
From the moment we told my mother-in-law, she made it clear she hated it.
She said it was odd, hard to say and spell, and that the baby would definitely get bullied.

At first I tried to laugh it off, but then she started refusing to use the name.
She calls the baby Ivy, which A, is not her name, and B, I can't stand because my husband's ex was called Ivy and she wasn't the nicest.
Sometimes she just calls her the baby.
She's even said things like, I'll call them by their proper name when you come to your senses and changes.
Oh my God.
Like, that is absolutely wild to me that somebody would be that rude.
