Scary.

At first I tried to laugh it off, but then she started refusing to use the name.

She calls the baby Ivy, which A, is not her name, and B, I can't stand because my husband's ex was called Ivy and she wasn't the nicest.

Sometimes she just calls her the baby.

She's even said things like, I'll call them by their proper name when you come to your senses and changes.

Oh my God.

Like, that is absolutely wild to me that somebody would be that rude.

Her partner should be putting the mother in the place.

I've corrected her multiple times.

My partner has spoken to her, OK?

And nothing has changed.

The final straw came when I saw her post on her Facebook introducing her darling granddaughter, Ivy.

I lost it.

I was hormonal exhausted and honestly furious.

So when Christmas plans came up, I told my partner I didn't want her there unless she could respect our child's name.

I won't have her around my kid calling her a different name.

He backed me.

Now she's after telling everyone we banned her from Christmas and that I'm using the baby to punish her.

My own mum thinks I should just ignore her to keep the peace.

So, am I being the asshole for uninviting my mother-in-law over this?
