That opinion of, and that would be okay too, was before seeing what all of Montreal's rival teams did.

That the Sabres and the Islanders and the Red Wings and the Blue Jackets and everybody who's battling with Montreal did the things that Montreal needed to do as well.

That changed for, well, okay, I won't speak for both of us, but I will say for me, that changes my opinion on, last week I was fine if he didn't do anything because I didn't want him to oversell.

I didn't want him to, you know, but now having looked at what everybody else did, he needed to do something.

You said short-term deals.

Well, that's the upgrading the defenseman, moving Patrick Lyon.

Those are things that were on his short-term list.

And for the most part, when he came to the microphone, he was talking about this...

big home run swing that he struck out on.

And so maybe, I guess the question was, were there short term, did the Canadians consider getting involved in short term deals?

And here's what his response was.

So they considered it.

And as they've said in the past, they don't want to bring in someone who's going to block, you know, a prospect, block paths.

It has to fit into their long-term view.

And basically he said, we considered short-term deals.

We didn't find one at the price we were looking to pay.

I'm just going to play devil's advocate here and say, well, maybe there needed to be some more aggressive work done on getting Patrick Lina moved out.
