And then maybe you would have had some more trade capital to work with to make some of those short term deals.

So maybe they tried to get involved, but like Buffalo found out, there was players out there who had no trade deals where players said, no, I'm not coming to Montreal.

So that's good news that, yes, Montreal was on some of those no trade lists.

But maybe if things had worked out, if they were able to come to the right arrangements for a deal, that the player may have considered waiving their no trade to go to the Canadians.

That's absolutely positive.

Yeah, and as he said, but they have to continue to move in that direction.

They can't lose sight of the progress they've made in that area, and they have to keep improving that.

And continue to be a place where that would be a destination, a sought-after destination for players.

Um, one of those three things, uh, that you mentioned that were kind of on the trade deadline needs to be done at the trade deadline was move the surplus of bottom six forwards.

They didn't do that.

And Kent Hughes did talk about the actual log jam of forwards.

Again, in that particular regard, when we spoke about it last week, reading between the lines, we said there's a logjam of forwards.

That's going to cause a problem when you get involved in wanting to add another forward.

That should be addressed as a short-term trade deadline.

And well, it, it apparently factored into the discussions, this log jam factored into the discussions about adding somebody else because they didn't want to, you know, increase that, that log jam.

Now, when I say that, that really only applies to the forwards.

So there was nothing there that prevented explicitly adding a defenseman.
