Sources tell Bloomberg that President Trump plans to fire Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty McCary.
The White House released a statement that neither confirmed nor denied plans to fire the FDA chief.
When reached by phone, McCary had no comment.
Biotech markets moved higher on the news.
President Trump says there will be a three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine over the weekend, as well as a prisoner swap.
The ceasefire, which Trump said would last May 9th through the 11th, coincides with Russia's Victory Day celebrations.

Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed the move, posting on social media that there will be a prisoner swap of 1,000 people from each side, and he expects the U.S.
to ensure Russia fulfills the agreement.
Russia's Interfax News Agency says the Kremlin has also agreed to the ceasefire plan.
The U.S.
carried out airstrikes on two empty Iranian oil tankers, which Iran said had violated the ceasefire agreement.
And Trump has threatened more intense strikes if Iran refuses his terms for a peace deal.
