And the aerial would go up the steeple using the lightning rod as the disguise.
Quite often they'd be in sheds or outhouses and then the aerial wire would go up like a nearby tree and it would be disguised.
I don't know whether you've ever looked at a tree closely, but the bark often has kind of like a crevice in and then so they'd see the aerial up so you couldn't see it.

What's under the toilet, the bunker for the wireless set.
So you go into the outside toilet, normal outside toilet, come back out and there's a small kind of water meter hatch on the, on the floor outside and you open it up and there's like a key and you turn that 90 degrees.
You go back to the outside toilet and that allows you, that's a release mechanism that now allows you to lift up the whole of the system.
So the whole of the toilet system lifts up and underneath the toilet is a ladder going down into the bunker.
You go down the ladder into the bunker.
And even when you're there in the first bunker, it's like a weirdly disguised, like Anderson shelf, like a bomb shelter until you pull a hook on a shelf and that opens up a false wall.
where the wireless set would have been, where the guy operating the wireless would have been.
And on the border of the house in the middle of a hedge was one of these fake tree stumps with a revolving top.
And the last runner in the line would put it into a split tennis ball, into the hedge, revolve the top of this tree stump, push the ball down, and it would roll all the way down underground and land right next to where he was operating his wireless set.
So that one was that the house remained in the hands of the family for a long time.
So at the end of the war, the dad was like, I did this.
